Elfin Lake public beach will NOT be open to the public this year per orders of the Selectboard on May 4, 2020. There will be NO lifeguards, concessions or public restrooms available.
Swimmers assume all risk should they choose to swim or gather at Elfin Lake. The municipal swimming facilities are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 07/23/20 Elfin Lake water test results for E.coli was 43.5 mpn/100ml. From the Vermont Dept. of Health website: E. coli in water is measured as the number of bacteria found in 100 milliliters (mL) of water. In Vermont, when the test result at a public swimming area is 235 E. coli/100mL or less, it means that the water is considered suitable for swimming. A result greater than 235 E. coli/100mL means that the water is not considered suitable for swimming
