3 Squares VT is a nutrition program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture that boosts your food budget. If you are over 65 or receive SSI and have a checking or savings account, you do not have to get a swipe card. Your benefits can be deposited right into your bank account. A Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group is held the first Monday of each month to share stories, provide support, suggest strategies, etc. We meet on the first floor of the RSVP/FGP/One-2-One office at 6 Court Street – next to Grace Congregational Church. Please park in the church parking lot, walk down the driveway next to the office and enter in the side door off the ramp. Many activities and programs are available for older Wallingford residents, and the Wallingford Seniors group, in cooperation with the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging, is trying to get the word out.
Another program intended to keep Seniors active and healthy is the “Bone Builders” program held at the Gilbert Hart Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m.
