Fire District #1 received its charter from the Legislature in 1906. There have been six charter amendments since the district was established with the last amendment taking place in 1929. The fire district is a separate entity from the Town of Wallingford. Therefore, all questions regarding invoices and payments related to water and sewer charges should be directed to the fire district office. Fire District #1 does not have a mechanism for online payments.

The Wallingford Fire District #1 is currently accepting applications/resumes for a Prudential Committee Board Member. Prudential Committee Board Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month starting at 6pm in the Fire District office. If you are interested in applying for the Prudential Committee Board Member position please stop in to the Wallingford Fire District #1 office, located at 75 School Street in Wallingford, for an application or to drop off your resume and schedule an interview. You may also call Marianne at 802-446-2964 to schedule an interview. All applications/resumes must be submitted to Marianne no later than Wednesday, September 18th. All interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, September 18th at the Prudential Committee meeting, starting at 6:30pm. Wallingford Fire District #1 is an equal opportunity employer.

Fire District #1 has offered to issue bills quarterly by email. Just send an email to email@example.com and indicate you would like to join. The Clerk/Treasurer Marianne Goulet will send out notices to all participants before the due date to remind anybody who may have forgotten the due date, misplaced their printed bill or deleted the original email. All you need to do is email or call the office (802) 446-2964 and Marianne will send you another email with your bill attached. Again, this is totally a voluntary service.
