Summer Recreation Program 2017
The town of Wallingford is happy to announce Lisa Cotrupi and Jenn Rocque-Tifft will return as co-directors of the five-week Summer Recreation Program.
Applications are being accepted for lifeguard, summer counselor and Elfin Lake concession stand positions. Visit the Documents page of this website for an application. You may also pick up an application at Town Hall.
- Offered to children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- The program will run during the following four weeks: June 26-30, July 31- August 4, August 7-11, August 14-18
- Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-5:15 pm (actual rec. program hours will be 8:45 am to about 4:15 pm).
- Children will need to bring their own snack, lunch, beverages, and sunscreen lotion. We highly recommend that children bring a water bottle to be refilled throughout the day.
The schedule will be similar to that of previous year’s recreational programs. Participants will be dropped off at Wallingford Elementary School each morning (no earlier than 7:30 a.m.) Morning activities begin at 8:45 a.m. Depending on the projects for the day— recycled-materials crafts, gardening, cooking, organized games, sports, or hiking– this may include a walk down to the Wallingford Recreational Field. After lunch, everyone hikes over to Elfin Lake for swimming and other beach activities. Children are expected to be picked up at the school by 5:15 p.m.
