Wallingford Day will be here before we know it and our Events & Communications Committees are working hard with planning for a wonderful day.

As usual we ask all residents who want to have a tag sale to do so that day from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.

In the past we have asked for pallets to be decorated, but this year we would like to use Sunflowers as our theme. The Ukrainian people are suffering and we would like to show our support in what they are going through. Make some sort of display in front of your home incorporating the Sunflower. If your display is small, like a painting or flower arrangement, let us know and we will try to find a local business to display your art work. Let’s make Wallingford light up with yellow!

We have a big job making Wallingford Day a success and we can use your help. We are only asking you for a few hours on that day. You could help out at the children’s game carnival or assist in setting up for a scavenger hunt. We can also use monetary donations if you can’t spare your time.

We would love to have our local businesses do something special that day, maybe pizza slices, donuts, hot dogs or ice cream sundaes. Even if it’s just for a few hours that will keep people walking around town.

Maybe our local American Legion can set something up in their park. They can talk about the Howitzer or talk about the people from Wallingford that served in the military.

Our Communications Committee will once again set up a Silent Auction at the library and if you would like to donate an auction item please let us know.

Finally we will be having the annual Lawrence Kaminski Fireworks display which is the highlight of the evening.

We would appreciate any ideas you have for that day and any time or donation you can give to make this day enjoyable for all.

Please contact us at wallingfordday@gmail.com with suggestions or sign up to help with time or donations.

Thank you very much.
