The next Second Tuesday Open Mic will be Tuesday, July 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. This month the event will be held at Wallingford Lodge thanks to Fire District #1. A sound system will be available. Enjoy delicious desserts and beverages while your friends and neighbors share their talents alongside beautiful Elfin Lake. Plenty of chairs will be set-up so bring your family and friends to the Wallingford Lodge on Tuesday, July 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. for Second Tuesday Open Mic.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: TOWN OF WALLINGFORD PLANNING COMMISSION PRESENTATION OF PROPOSED ZONING REGULATIONS – On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 , staring at 7:00 p.m.; a public meeting of the planning commission will be held to answer questions and receive public input on the draft of revised zoning regulations. The hearing will be held at Town Hall, 75 School St., Wallingford. A copy of the Proposed Rules and maps are available for review on this website. The Rules and Official Zoning District Maps are also available at Town Office. This will be the only Planning Commission hearing on the draft zoning rules before forwarding the documents to the Select Board. The Select Board will hold another Pubic Hearing mid-summer.

Message for Residents of the Wallingford Fire District #1: The Prudential Committee wants to let you know that we wish to offer a voluntary service to send you all bills by email. Not only will this save paper, postage, reduce land fill waste and associated resources, it will also offer increase security as only you will see your bill. No need to tear your bill into tiny pieces or shred your bill for secure recycling! Simply send the office an email email@example.com and say you’d like to join! In addition, the clerk/ treasurer will send out reminders to all participants before the due date to remind anybody who may have forgotten the due date, misplaced their printed bill or deleted the original email. All you need to do is email or call the office (802-446-2964) and Maureen will send you another email with your bill attached. Again, this is totally a voluntary service.

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS:
The Abstract Grand List as of April 1, 2015 is available for the public to review at the Wallingford Town Clerk’s Office. “Change of Assessment Notices” were mailed on May 14th to property owners who had a change in their assessment.
ANY property owner who wishes to grieve his or her assessed value must have a written grievance received (postmarks not accepted) by the close of business at 4:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Grievance hearings are scheduled to be heard on June 3, 2015.
Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation has issued a Red Flag Warning to cease the issue of burn permits through May 19th. A Red Flag Warning means there are critical fire weather conditions including low relative humidity, high winds with little to no precipitation in the past few days. Fires that ignite during these conditions spread rapidly and with high intensity. The ban may be revoked or extended based upon weather conditions.
