In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Phil Scott has announced a Continuity of Education Plan for the orderly dismissal of all schools, and cancellation of all school related activities, no later than Wednesday, March 18. This directive, which will be distributed to schools later today, will last through April 6 — but may very well be extended for a longer period. For the full statement:

MESSAGE FROM THE CDC: Gatherings of 50 or more people should be canceled or postponed for the next eight weeks in order to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, according to new guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The federal agency issued the new recommendation Sunday night, acknowledging that the large gatherings could “contribute to the spread”of the illness.
