When Vermont heats up, do you struggle to find places where you can go to cool off? The State of Vermont has a map of air-conditioned buildings, beaches, pools, and other cooling locations available to the public, click here.
Wallingford Town Hall, Gilbert Hart Library and Elfin Lake are cooling centers and can be found on the map.
Gilbert Hart Library Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
Wallingford Town Hall Hours: Mondays thru Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m (and for movie night on August 4th from 7p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Elfin Lake Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily thru August 20th.
*Please be aware and call for help immediately if you are experiencing:
Heat exhaustion /heat stroke
Loss of appetite and feeling sick.
Excessive sweating and pale, Clammy skin.
Cramps in the arms, legs and stomach.
Fast breathing or pulse.
High temperature of 38C or above.
