Present:  J. White, D. Blodgett, K. Welch (chair), and J. Barbieri

6:45 p.m. – call to order.

Minutes approved.

Old Business:

Town Hall Update – the Town was able to take advantage of higher incentive (offered by Efficiency VT) rates because we met our application to Efficiency VT. Once the lighting has been done, we’ll look at air sealing in the basement –then move on to the bigger bang at WES.

Energy Plan Update  - Ken will chat with Phillip Picotte of RRPC for technical questions on drafting a plan. We’ll focus on the energy challenge first however. Jay suggests we get speakers in on each of these topics (i.e. one speaker per meeting starting in November.) The WES principal will be coming in October.

Town Energy Challenge – Ken will find out when button-up event will happen.  We’ll contact VCEM participants to follow-up regarding their continued efforts (audit, retrofit, etc.) (We developed a short list of those participants and each of us will contact a few of them.) In addition, we’d like to engage the WES sixth grade students in energy conservation per the school’s ‘energy management program site assessment’ report. (We’ll meet with the principal first to discuss.)  Ken wants to have key representatives in each section of town (disciples or ambassadors) and Ken can explain the program to them. Doug and Ken will get in touch with Tammy Heffernan to write an article about the energy challenge and place this article in the town newsletter and town website. We should also use these opportunities to inform others about the town Energy Committee and what we do.
