Recycling information  Wallingford Recycles!

 

Newspaper

Newspapers and inserts must be dry and tied in bundles. Do not leave newspapers loose or in bags.

Glass

Clear, green & brown glass only. All glass must be rinsed clean and all caps/lids must be removed. No need to remove labels. No auto or windshield glass, broken glass, porcelain, ceramics, china, window glass, or light bulbs.

Tin/Aluminum

All food and beverage tin and aluminum cans and clean pie pans, rinsed clean and with labels removed. We do not recycle glass jar lids or tar pails.

Plastics

Clear and colored #1 and #2 including detergent, soap, shampoo, water, cider, milk, soda, juice, and cooking containers. Please rinse clean and remove caps and lids. We do not recycle plastic bags, shrink wrap, or toys.

Corrugated Cardboard

Brown double-walled material with a wavy center typically used in shipping boxes. We do not recycle pizza boxes or yellow or waxed cardboard.

Office Paper & Junk Mail

Coupons, magazines, flyers, phone books, white paper, colored paper, junk mail, and envelopes.

Boxboard

Cereal, pasta, and shoeboxes or other uses of the same material such as paper egg cartons. We do not recycle white boxes or boxboard boxes containing metal parts.

Returnable Bottles & Cans Returnable bottle and can donations are accepted on behalf of the Wallingford Elementary School for the E.L.F. fund.

NEWSPAPERS: A local dairy farmer has been taking the newspapers for animal bedding, saving the Town hauling and disposal fees. He wants  newspapers - NO garbage, or brown bags.
