Minutes and Agenda approved

(1) The Pit:

            (a) The Act 250 reconsideration hearing is tomorrow (October 23, 2007) at 9:00 a.m. at the Asa Bloomer building.  Debbie is planning to attend.  It will take the Commission two to three weeks to decide whether they will support the appeal.  Tim may attend also.

            (b) Recreational trails:  Peter mowed a path at the top of the bank yesterday to clear a potential trail.  Debbie proposed that we blaze (subtly) a trail at Elfin (including the area Peter mowed) and make a couple of trailhead signs at the entrances (one sign at 140 and one at the beach parking lot).  Debbie will call and get on the agenda for the next selectboard meeting so we can review the proposal with them.

(2) Otter Creek:  On Sunday, October 15th, Sharon Nimtz took several WCC members  down to the old dam historic site along the Otter Creek Flood plain.  There are a lot of invasive plants including Japanese knotweed on the town property.  The group also walked down Church Street extension and Waldo Lane .  Ralph and David are going to continue to explore the option for an Otter Creek canoe trail from south Wallingford to the 140 bridge.

April Moulaert is willing to give a public presentation at the library on the Clean and Clear Wetlands protection program on Thursday, November 15th.  Tim will check on the availability of the library and then call and confirm with April.  Tim will ask April for a little blurb about exactly what she is going to speak about so Debbie can do the publicity.

(3) Walking Tours Brochure:  Tim printed two draft copies for review by the Committee.  He will flip the map 180 degrees.  David and Ralph will review the drafts and get back to Tim with edits.  Tim will then print out 100 =/- copies.

(4)  AVCC:  Debbie joined as an individual last year.  She signed the entire WCC as  members  recently.  The annual meeting is this Saturday. Tim may try and attend.

(5) Other Business:

(1)    Energy Conservation:  Tim suggested going to the internet to investigate www.free-flow–power.com regarding run of the river hydro.

(2)    Possible additional upcoming events:

(a)                Kathy Reynolds from efficiency Vermont

(b)               Tracking activity (pending snow fall)

(c)                Newsletter (An announcement regarding April in November) Tim will find out when the information is needed and who it should go to.

(3)    Kim will invite Shannon to the next meeting as a member.

Next meeting November 27, 2007

Meeting adjourned 8:50 p.m.
