Site Visit to
Dennis Smith property
Present:
William Brooks; William Scranton; Robert Soule; John West; Melissa
Whitmore
Guests: Dennis
Smith, John Bloomer, Lisa Charbonneau, George Burkett, Karen Lemay, Tom Phillips
We met at the property at
2251 Route 7 South at
6:15 p.m.
Bill Brooks asked if the
wooden fencing that remains (a section about 35 feet long extending northerly
from the building) would have to be removed as part of the settlement of the
litigation pertaining to the property. Mr. Bloomer said that there had been
another section of fencing farther north that had had to be removed. If the
remaining fencing was under five feet in height and cost less than $2000 then it
did not need a permit.
Mr. Bloomer said that the
fill issue had been resolved. Mr. Smith said that ten loads of gravel had been
put in and they had to date taken out twelve loads. Mr. Bloomer said that the
final inspection by the Zoning Administrator and a qualified Floodway person
from the State had yet to take place.
Mr. Smith said that there
would be a chain-link fence installed at the southern end of the building
extending eastward to the end of the gravel area. He is also considering an
additional fence at the northern end of the building because there have been a
couple of instances of people parking their cars in back of the building so they
would not be seen.
Topsoil will be brought in
to create lawn in the area in front of the building where there currently is a
gravel “drive” area to help keep people from using the north entrance to the
property to access the auto dealership. The north entrance to the property will
be used for anyone working at the office and parking for the office workers will
be behind the wooden fence. Only the small section of the building at the front
toward Route 7 will be used as an office.
