Wallingford Recreation Committee
Minutes*

Attendance: Sue Duskiewicz, Tom Phillips, Keith Shelvey, Lisa Marchinkoski

Guests:  Rodney Ward , Warren Allen

Meeting called to order at 6:40 .

Recreation Field:  Greg Whitehorn will help with putting in concrete for the dugouts.  The weather will need to be much warmer for this to happen. 

Tom priced bleachers.  They are about 20’ long. Two sets of three rows is $1860 and four rows is $2500 not including shipping and freight. 

Chuck Watts had left prices for basketball hoops.  The prices range from $600 to $2000. 

Rodney indicated that he could get some concrete.  Rodney also suggested looking at the hoops at the school, which are newer, to see what those are like. 

Picnic table costs approximately $1200 for the one that will match the benches at the field. 

Tom made a motion to purchase the three row bleachers.  Keith seconded.  The motion passed unanimously. 

Tom made a motion to purchase a picnic table for the playground area.  Keith seconded.  The motion passed unanimously. 

Tom made a motion to approve $1500 to purchase basketball hoops.  Keith seconded.  The motion passed unanimously.  Chuck will be the one to choose the hoops to purchase.

The only additional project that will need to be considered for the future is resurfacing the basketball and tennis courts. 

Talked about fencing along the river.  Discussed the fence running from gate at tennis court out behind the basketball courts. 

The Fire Department wants to have the Wallingford Fun Day at the recreation field this year.  The day is set for July 14.  The wire for the power needs to be put in.  The power will be 100 amps.  There will be one 220 plug inside the building.  Keith indicated he should be able to run everything on the panel.  Warren will mostly need lights for each booth, perhaps a turn table.  He indicated that they would be responsible for anything that happens to the field.
