Wallingford
Conservation Commission Minutes*
*These are
unofficial Minutes subject to the approval at the next regular meeting.
June 27, 2011
Present: Carol
Macleod, Shannon Pytlik, Josh Gilman, David Klock, Mark Pramuk, Jill Burkett
The meeting was called to order at 7 PM.
Carol is to call that Fire District/Prudential Committee to
see if they will give us permission to remove the trash.
We are unsure as to whether the trash is on Town land or Prudential
Committee land. The staging area for
removal of the trash is on Fire District land.
WCC will purchase pizza for the VYCC crew on their last day
of work. (Pizza was purchased and
eaten – much to the delight of the VYCC Crew.
They left us a nice thank you note which will be given to Julie Sharon
and, hopefully put in the next newsletter.)
Mowing of the field is off the table for 2 years.
Jill Burkett purchased wildflower seeds.
They will be strewn near the new
ADA
trail.
Mark attended the last meeting for the 250th
celebration in August. There will be
tables of food for sale at the Boys Camp. There
will be a Town Trivia game the day before. WCC
may do a scavenger hunt on the Stone Meadow Trails.
WCC should set up a table and try to enlist volunteers.
Shannon
will get distances for each trail. WCC
will have guided tours of the Stone Meadow Trails. We
hope that Ralph will be able to do a birding walk and that Steve Pytlik can do a
tree/soil tour. It would be nice if
we could get someone to do an edible plant/plants in general descriptive walk.
WCC will have a regular work days at Stone Meadow from
April thru October. They will be
scheduled for the first Saturday of every month and the third Sunday of every
month. We need to make a poster with
pictures and with information about the work days.
Poster will list Carol as the contact person.
Her phone number is 446-2658.
New Business: Josh
reported that Act 250 is requiring
the Town to complete reclamation of the Pit, which may be by November, 2013.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
