Present: Carol Macleod, Josh Gilman, Tim Chila, Shannon Pytlik, Ralph Nimtz,
Debbie Scranton, Jill Burkett
Meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m.
Old Business
- Grant: Water garden/trail grant. Water garden work will begin on Thurs.,
July 1st. If there is time,
Ethan Swift and the VYCC will begin trail work on the north side of the beach
(referred to as the "fisherman’s walk"). (As of this writing the
water garden is complete and the trail work that VYCC had time to do has been
done. They cleared and widened several trails. It looks terrific.) We need to
create signage for the notable trees, etc on these trails. Shannon volunteered
Steve to help. Ethan will order a sign for the rain garden. Ralph and Tim will
work on final design and cost estimate for a simple kiosk at the beach. It was
decided that we either need to buy or borrow a laminating machine. Shannon
volunteered to make the signs. RDC/CCC will request the balance of the CCC’s
2009-2010 budget (approximately $290.00) and use it to prepay Nail It Down for
lumber and other supplies necessary to build the kiosk at the beach.
- Pathways. We are still not sure how we got the SurPak . We are sure that
we are going to need more and that the placement of the SurPak at both ends
of the Stone Meadow pathway makes it difficult to transport it across Waldo
Lane to the ball field side pathway. Josh will find out if the Town Road
crew can flatten the Stone Meadow path, move the large stone to low areas
along path that need fill, and either spread the SurPak on the path or
create several piles along the path that the committee can move with wheel
barrows and rakes. We need to investigate getting more SurPak especially on
the ball field path.
3. Signage – Rodney Ward is seeking approval through
GE to buy the signs. We were to hear by June
24th,
but so far no word.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm. The next meeting is Monday, July 26, 2010
at 6:30 at Wallingford Town Hall.
