Wallingford
Energy Committee Minutes*
*These are
unofficial Minutes subject to the approval at the next regular meeting.
June 1, 2010
Call to order – 6:37 p.
Town Water Heater – it won’t
pay to replace this unit – so Nix the idea
Energy Inventory – We’re not
quite complete on inventory. We were going to try to standardize the data. Tim
will re-visit energy usage of WES. Jay will follow-up with the Fire Dept. Burt
will inform us what municipal data is missing and who needs to get it.
Discussion followed on choosing
the biggest municipal energy user for the free audit. The Town Hall already has
a restoration committee working on this bldg. WES would give us our biggest bang
for the buck, but the fix would not be cheap.
Jay made the motion we recommend
to the Select Board that the free energy audit be directed to WES. Ken seconded
– motion passed.
Wallingford
Energy Plan – Tim still has to ramrod this
VCEM – We performed 20 house
energy assessments and met our goal – Yea!
Phillip
wanted to know when we’d be returning extra supplies.
Town Garage energy Audit – Tim
passed this out to members – v. bad news here
New Business – Ken pointed out
that the school buses look pretty empty when they’re running and perhaps we
should look at smaller buses or vans as a way to save $$$/energy. Tim will talk
with Chuck Watts and ken Fredette about bus use as well as advising them of the
energy audit.
Bennington
is pursuing a hydro project and has streamlined the permit process.
Ralph wants to keep looking at
LED street
lighting and gradual replacement of our current lights. The PRU committee is
responsible for street lighting. We’ll discuss this again at our next meeting
as to action on this item. |
