The Rutland Natural Resources Conservation District (RNRCD) and the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VTDEC) are working together to assess how to restore stream equilibrium and reduce erosion in a historically straightened and bermed reach of the Homer Stone Brook in South Wallingford, Vermont.  The project held a kickoff meeting on Tuesday September 11 to discuss historical issues and visit the reach of Homer Stone Brook between Homer Stone Road and the railroad tracks.  Based on feedback, the project has developed alternatives for restoring stream equilibrium and reduce erosion within the project area.  We are inviting local officials, adjacent landowners, as well as interested State of Vermont agencies to discuss the evaluated alternatives.  The meeting will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at the Wallingford Town Hall.
