* Car batteries may be left at the Wallingford Transfer Station or taken to the Rutland County Solid Waste District Transfer Station during regular business hours.
** Latex paint is not a hazardous waste! Use it up or give it to a friend to use. It may be dried and landfilled as a solid waste. Open containers and let dry until solid or mix in cat litter to speed up the process.
*** Tires may be left at the Wallingford Transfer Station or taken to the Rutland County Solid Waste District Transfer Station during regular business hours. There is a small fee for tire disposal.
Businesses should contact the Rutland County Solid Waste District (770-1333) to arrange for proper disposal of business waste.
