Wallingford Energy Committee Minutes*

*These are unofficial Minutes subject to the approval at the next regular meeting.

February 2, 2010

Members :Joyce Barbieri, Doug Blodgett, Ralph Nimtz, Ken Welch, Jay White, and Ed Safford

Temp. Chair Ralph Nimtz asked for approval of past minutes – approved by committee.

Wallingford Energy Inventory - we have some data of some municipal bldgs. but still need more data  – members to continue to work on this. WES oil use seems high. Ralph suggests we try to dig a little deeper in examining energy use in bldgs., examine hours of operation etc.

Wall. Energy Plan – Tim C. has offered to the planning commis. to help draft this section of the town plan to which planning commiss. Heartily agreed. Ken W. will also try to get some narrative examples from other towns.

VT Energy Mobilization Project – Tim has not yet had training, - another training opportunity may avail itself in a couple weeks.  Members to seek other potentially interested vols. for training. Doug will check with Mike Gamache’s science students to see if any have an interest in training or assisting current members with home visits. Joyce will schedule/match trained folks with homeowners for home visits. Tim to check on and receive products – at that time we should have another meeting to coordinate activities.

Members felt the biggest bang for our buck of invested time was in the village. We would like to have some home visits completed prior to town meeting in order to share our project/progress with townsfolk.

Student CFL Sale  ???? Tim ramroding this.

New Business   Town is soliciting bids for air-sealing work in the town hall basement and r-60 insulation installation in the attic.

Then we all had a good time with Ken’s new thermograph toy viewing the v. leaky, drafty town hall.
