The Pit:
Debbie attended both hearings (February 14 and 20).
Criteria that were addressed (water quality, the bridge, and the town
plan) were based on previous hearings. No
testimony was allowed on any other criteria. The WCC will withdraw their efforts
on the pit until a decision is made. If
the town and/or Tom Phillips creates a committee to develop a plan for
recreation fields (soccer etc) we may participate via a representative, however,
the WCCs main interest is in conservation activities and more dispersed and
nature oriented recreation.
