Attendees: Ralph
Nimtz (co-chair), Shannon Pytlik, Josh Gilman, Debbie Scranton, David Klock,
Jillian Bliss, and Mark Pramuk
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM.
Minutes of the previous meeting on January 24, 2011 were approved.
Mark Pramuk was introduced as a potential new member whose name will be
submitted to the Selectboard for appointment.
Old Business
1)
Watershed Grant
The Watershed Grant application
was approved for $8,500, with a $1,000 match from the town.
The grant is three-fold:
a)
To clean up the dumping site by the bog.
b)
To install educational signage
c)
To build a boardwalk from the existing trail system to the bog
2)
Ice Rink at the Recreation Area in anticipation of Cabin Fever Fun
Day
a)
Ice rink area was snow-blown by Josh, now has ice banks in place
b)
Water source will be Fire Department which may initially apply
water Feb. 21 or 22 with frigid weather.
3)
AVCCVT Tiny Grants, prepared by Carol Macleod
a)
Application deadline is March 1, will be presented to Selectboard
by Josh
b)
Goal of grant is to present Stone
Meadow
Park
to the public
c)
Budget of $500 for 500 brochures, $560 for clean-up (monetary or
in-kind), $100 for mowing.
d)
Encourage local groups like Boy Scouts to work on clean-up
e)
Large stumps and stone piles – Josh will ask town to move

Wooden Signage by Green Screen brought to meeting by Jillian
a)

5)
Cabin Fever Fun Day, Saturday, March 5, 12-2 PM, Stone Meadow
a)
Intent is to introduce Stone Meadow via a fun community event
b)
Weather permitting, activities will include ice-skating at newly
Flooded rink, sledding, bonfire,
food (toasted marshmallows, hot dogs, hot chocolate). May paint snow paths for
X-country skiing.
c)
Will need plowed parking lot, hand-outs printed (Shannon-
ask town)
d)
Tents (Dave, Jillian), hot dogs (Ralph), rolls/thermos/generator
(Jillian), marshmallows & sticks/condiments/napkins/hot chocolate (
Shannon
), hot cups (Debbie) Keep receipts
of expenses.
e)
We will meet Sunday, February 27 at 10 at Stone Meadow to evaluate
Grounds for the event, gather brush for the bonfire.
6)
Green Up Day, May 7 (Jillian is chair )
a)
Jillian planning a “Find the Golden Egg” contest
b)
Supplies for event are table (

Bags and posters are Sent to the town.
c)
Advertise event by putting Green-Up on town’s webpage, in town
Newsletter, flyers in town and in school.
7)
Poster of WCC work at
beach and Stone Meadow for town meeting (Debbie).
New Business – Scenic Byway designation status considered
by WCC.
The next meeting will
be Monday, March 28, 2011, 6:00 PM at the Town Hall.
