Wallingford Selectboard Minutes
Selectboard Minutes Index Present: Bill Brooks, Frank Bruce, Charlie Angel, Nelson Tift, and Julie Sharon Visitors: Sandi Switzer Minutes. On behalf of J. Gilman, Julie read his email request to amend his motion in the minutes under Other Business to read “that the Town Agent is authorized to initiate legal action to enforce the settlement agreement if excavation activity occurs before the next Selectboard meeting”. B. Brooks pointed out that pursuant to statute, the Zoning Administrator must first send a violation letter. After a seven-day notice period has passed, enforcement action can then be taken by the Zoning Administrator. Therefore, the minutes were approved as written on a motion made by C. Angel and seconded by F. Bruce. Motion carried (4-0). Selectboard Orders.
F. Bruce made a motion to approve the pay orders
totaling $7,148.24, which was seconded by C. Angel.
Motion carried (4-0). Building Use Requests.
On a motion made by F. Bruce and seconded by C. Angel, approval was given
to the Girl Scouts to use the upstairs on May 2nd from 6-8 p.m. for
an organizational meeting at no charge. Motion

motion to approve a request by Victoria Bergen to use the upstairs on Monday
evenings from 4/25 through 7/18 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for a community weight loss

B. Brooks amended his motion to charge 10% of her earnings at the end of the
challenge; F. Bruce seconded the motion. Motion
carried (4-0). Quarterly Financial Reports.
YTD expenses are generally on target with the exception of the Highway
Department. We have exceeded our
highway salt budget by over $11,000. Also,
unforeseen repairs made to the grader earlier in the year caused an overage of
nearly $5,500. This adverse impact brings the entire department’s YTD expenses
to $159,314 or 92% of budget. Therefore,
the department will be told to take whatever measures necessary through June 30th
to stay under budget on other expenses to offset this variance. Other
Business. On behalf of J. Gilman,
Julie read his announcement that the town’s fire wardens, Dave Gilman and Art
Seward, recently attended the annual meeting at which time Mr. Gilman was
recognized for 15 years of service. F. Bruce reported on the wandering bull in There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. |
