Baseball
Building
Expansion: the current building is
12 x 12. The addition will be 12 x
12 and a patio overhang of 8 x 12, for a total of 20 x 12 addition.
One concern with putting a picnic table in the patio area, as it may
promote loitering. Discussed having
lighting in that area. Keith would
like to ask Selectboard to put a light on the pole in the parking lot in
addition to lighting on the back of the building, which would be on a timer.
There will be no door access from the back side of the building.
There will be a roll up door on the side for concession.
Tom indicated that baseball could move all the baseball items back into
the South building. Keith indicated
that it is not a baseball building. Baseball
built the building, but it is now owned by the town of
Wallingford
. What baseball needs to be kept in
the building is the lime, the wheelbarrow, a couple rakes and shovels.
These items will need to be kept in the old part of the building,
separate from the concessions.
Chuck moved that we build a 20 X 12 addition as explained
above. Tom seconded the motion.
Discussed items that committee has already approved to purchase in
previous meetings and the cost to build this addition.
Concrete will be through
Carrara
’s, and will either be discounted or free.
However, we do not know the timing of the concrete being delivered.
The roof will be the same pitch as the current roof.
The estimation for the enclosed building part is $1500.
Including the purchase of the raft, hoops, picnic table,
bleachers, and addition building, there would be approximately $2000 remaining
in the account. Since the hoops and
picnic table have not been ordered as of yet, perhaps we could wait to order
those until after the building is completed.
Sue made a motion to approve the building addition.
Tom seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously (5-0).
Keith would like to see guidelines regarding what the
recreation committee can or can not do and if and when we need approval from the
Selectboard.
Rodney asked if we can have a set schedule for meetings.
Next meeting will be
May 16, 2007
at the recreation field at
6:30
. We will plan to meet on the third
Wednesday of every month until further notice. |
