Wallingford Fire District No. 1

 MINUTES OF THE PRUDENTIAL COMMITTEE MEETING
October 28, 2009

Called to Order:  Scott Sendra called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.   Also present was Charlie Baker, Dennis Stocker, and Maureen Duchesne/Clerk-Treasurer.   

Visitors:  Eric Hanson from Vermont Rural Water to talk to the board about the grant money that may be available to the district for water or wastewater projects that needs to be done.  

Bill Brooks came to see if the board still wants to pursue letting all but East Wallingford vote on Fire Protection only issues. After some discussion Charlie B made a motion to have a binding vote put on the ballot to see what the voters in the district want. It was seconded by Dennis S.  Motion carried (3/0).  

Approval for Minutes:  Dennis Stocker had to leave the meeting at 7 p.m. as he was called for an oil delivery.   Scott made a motion and Charlie seconded that the minutes for September 23rd be accepted as presented. With no discussion motion carried. (2/0)    

Approval for the Fire District Pay Order: Scott made a motion and Charlie seconded that the pay orders be accepted. With no discussion motion carried. (2/0)  

Old Business:  It was reported that the new hydrant near the 140 bridge had been replaced and working well.  

New Business:  A motion was made by Charlie and seconded by Scott that the 4th Qtr water/sewer rates be for water $7.27 and for sewer $6.57 per 1000 gallons.  

The pump at the sewer plant has now been replaced.  

Public Comments: None  

Other Business/Announcements:  The Fire Dept. will be flushing the hydrants on Saturday, October 31st starting at 9 a.m.  

Executive Session:  None.  

Next Meeting:  The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Prudential Committee will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 , at 6:00 P.M. at the Wallingford Fire Station on Railroad Street.   

Adjournment:  Scott made the motion that the meeting be adjourned.  Charlie seconded the motion.  No further discussion.  Motion carried (2/0).  The meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
