Wallingford Fire District No. 1

MINUTES OF THE PRUDENTIAL COMMITTEE MEETING
June 24, 2009

Called to Order:  Scott Sendra called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.   Also present was Charlie Baker, Dennis Stocker, and Maureen Duchesne/Clerk-Treasurer.

Visitors:  Alicia Sharp, Jennifer Pascal

Jennifer came to discuss her latest water/sewer bill, as she could not understand why it was so high. Scott gave her a copy of how big the blow off valve should be and explained it should only be a trickle of water coming out.  We did go over her bill and Scott made a motion that we take the sewer charge off the bill as the property was empty. Charlie seconded the motion and with no further discussion motion carried. (3/0)

Alicia Sharp gave an update as to where we were with the delinquent bills. She has spoken with John West about what needs to be done to shut off water on people who have a high delinquency and those letters are being done. The reminder letters have been mailed out to customers.

Approval for Minutes: Charlie made a motion and Dennis seconded that the minutes for May 24th  be accepted as presented. With no discussion motion carried. (3/0)

Approval for the Fire District Pay Order:   Scott made a motion and Dennis seconded that the pay orders be accepted. With no discussion motion carried. (3/0)

Old Business:  I explained that I have not applied for any credit cards yet because they are all asking for personal information that I do not want to give out.  Scott said he would also look at a few and see what he could find.

New Business:  I went over the options for prebuying of fuel from Patten Oil.  Scott made a motion and Charlie seconded that we go as we have done in the past and not prebuy.  With no further discussion the motion carried. ( 3/0)

Dennis will check with Johnson fuel and bring some information to the next meeting.

We went over the new contract that Scott drew up for the lodge rentals. We went over and made some suggestions and additions to be put in. We will approve at next meeting.

I mentioned that Julie was wondering what we were going to do about the contract with the Town and the board stated that they were willing to sign one but we were waiting on Bill Brooks to bring it forward.
