Wallingford Fire District No. 1

 MINUTES OF THE PRUDENTIAL COMMITTEE MEETING
June 9, 2010

Called to Order:  Scott Sendra called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.  Also present was Alicia Sharp, and Maureen Duchesne Clerk/Treasurer.  

Visitors:  None  

Approval for Minutes: Scott made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and it was seconded by Alicia.  With no discussion the motion carried (2/0).  

Approval for the Fire District Pay Order: Scott made a motion to approve the pay orders and Alicia seconded the motion. Motion carried (2/0).  

Old Business: Maureen stated that she had heard back from the Secretary of State and was told that the only way voters can vote in a municipality is to live within that municipality, so therefore we cannot hold a special election to allow district #3 the right to vote on Fire Protection issues.  

New Business:   Maureen presented a request from the Fire Dept. for a donation to the Fun Day on July 17^th.   Alicia made a motion that we donate $100.00 and it was seconded by Scott.  With no discussion motion carried. (2/0)  

Maureen also presented the board with a request from Jim Bowen regarding the weed eater at the lodge.  It is 15 years old and not working, but to repair will cost around $130. 00 or get a new one for $220.00.  Scott made the motion to go ahead and purchase a new one Alicia seconded the motion.  With no discussion motion carried (2/0).  

Public Comments:  None  

Other Business/Announcements:  Scott wanted to say Thank You to the Fire Dept. for the great job responding to the mutual aid call from Clarendon to the structure fire.  He said that his wife’s relative lived in one of the apartments that was saved due to the great effort of all fire departments.  

Executive Session:  None

Next Meeting:  The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Prudential Committee will be June 23, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. at the Wallingford Fire Station on Railroad Street .    

Adjournment:  Alicia made the motion that the meeting be adjourned.  Scott seconded the motion.  No further discussion.  Motion carried (2/0).  The meeting adjourned at 7:02 P.M.
