Wallingford Fire District No. 1

MINUTES OF THE PRUDENTIAL COMMITTEE MEETING
May 26, 2010

Called to Order:  Scott Sendra called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.  Also present was Alicia Sharp, and Maureen Duchesne Clerk/Treasurer.

Visitors:  Bernard Eddy and Fred Thurlow came to hear the discussion about the special vote as they received an email from the Town Administrator.  The board did not know this had been sent out but it did not seem to generate much interest as we only had two people show up.  The board thanked the gentlemen for coming and welcomed them to come back when we have more information to share with the people.

Approval for Minutes:  Alicia made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and it was seconded by Scott.  With no discussion the motion carried (2/0).

Approval for the Fire District Pay Order:   Scott made a motion to approve the pay orders and Alicia seconded the motion. Motion carried (2/0).

Old Business:   Scott stated that he has not had time to get the stuff out of station two that goes to the lodge, but will work on it soon.

New Business:   Maureen stated that she had not heard anything back from the Secretary of State in regards to being able to allow district #3 the right to vote on Fire Protection issues only so the board said we would have to table any action at this time.  We are not even sure that we can legally do this and will have to wait to hear from the Secretary of State.

Maureen stated that Mark had been up to Hillside Drive to check on a water issue between a couple of properties but found that it is not a leak of our water or sewer system.

Public Comments:  None

Other Business/Announcements:  The Prudential Committee wanted to say Thank You to all the people in town that came out and supported the Fire Department on their very successful Chicken Barbeque.  The fire dept were sold out by 4 p.m. and this was something that hasn’t happened in a long time.

Executive Session:  None

Next Meeting:  The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Prudential Committee will be June 9, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. at the Wallingford Fire Station on Railroad Street .

Adjournment:  Alicia made the motion that the meeting be adjourned.  Scott seconded the motion.  No further discussion.  Motion carried (2/0).  The meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M.

Respectfully Submitted:

Maureen Duchesne - Clerk/Treasurer                                       Date Approved:  June 9, 2010
